Getting Ready

It has been a pleasure to get this art festival off the ground!
Of course if you do not know what I am talking about, it is the DIGABLE ARTS FESTIVAL.
There has been a lot of interest, and it is both exciting and daunting; exciting b/c this is the largest independent arts festival Hoboken has seen in a long time, and daunting for the same reason.  Also, there is alot of work to be done, re: fundraising and preparation.

The space is raw, and primed like a gesso canvas. There are tons of bands, and lots of vendors.
The advertising is what is missing. So far submissions have been satisfactory, but we have until the end of the month. Having worked with artists in the past, the vast majority will submit at the 11th hour. Not a problem. one must plan for these things.

What is Artifications???

Artification’s mandate is to bring culture to Hoboken residents in the form of music, quality art, theatre, dance and performance art. In this wonderful city, there is a stunning shortage of art. Artification works with the Monroe center to bring visibility to Hoboken artists while also inviting quality artists to display their art in Hoboken.

American cities undergoing gentrification unknowingly marginalize artists. Through steep rents and a stifling lack of gallery space, artists are forced to look elsewhere for reasonable work and display spaces. In Hoboken, a city that embodies gentrification, Artification is working to reverse that trend, and bring art back to the Mile Square City.

We need your help to do this.
